Question:

How does a car crusher work by hydraulics?

I need to know how a car crusher works by hydraulics.. like RIGHT NOW please help. Thank you.

Answer:

Place a soda can sideways on a counter.Place your hand on it and push down. The hydralic fluid is the actual pushing force but you get the picture.Appling several tons of pressure is how they can make a car look like a 3' square block of metal.
By using hydraulic rams to push a large steel plate onto a car. Look it up on You tube, I am sure there are some good videos.
Crusher Works
The same way as any other hydraulics, simple force times area, hydraulic fluid at say 3000 PSI against a piston with an area of say 10 square inches equals 30,000 pounds of push.
