How does K&N Cold Air Intake compare to others?

I added a Jet Chip to my car (2007 Magnum 3.5HO) and was very satisfied, now looking to add a little sound and a couple more ponies. KN is generally more expensive, but claims ease of installation and a great reputation Does anyone have experience w/ KN or other Brands names?

Yeah, they are good. Reusable. They will add 7-13HP. The brands for tuner cars add more power like AEM, Injen, and Fujita. But they are not reusable.
Just shift down a gear and don't use any throttle, that is compression braking.
Do as you are, BUT : #1 don't close the throttle all the way. Use it to regulate your speed. #2 DON'T pull the clutch in 1/2 way. Don't worry about the no engine braking signs. Those are meant for the large deisel trucks. They have a special engine braking system (aka Jake brake) that can be very loud.
you need a maf it tells the ecu the exact mass of the air and per 14.7 pounds of air it injects 1 pound of fuel if yopu do not have it the comp will go to the one from the factory and it will probably be very lean if you get a new pipe you will need a new maf
A cold air intake is a cold air intake unless you're talking about the AEM V2 cold air intake. They all consist of metal pipe mandrel bent to fit the car, couplers and clamps mounting the filter outside or drawing cool air from outside. KN uses filter oil and dont generally filter too well. I had one on my turbo car and it allowed particles to pass and enter my intercooler which is where they sat until i took it off and cleaned it. So I switched back to the stock filter and it catches everything without killing my turbo spool characteristic. Lots of filters are now using dry filter elements because for some reason filter oil is bad. KN is mainly for improved fuel mileage, they dont add a whole ton of power (5-7 HP) sometimes.
