will use it in sucky summer conditions but want to know how it preforms on real waves

My brother has a CI 5'4 fishcuit and although you really need some decent size waves or at least really well formed powerful small ones the thing rips when you get on it. Its a speed machine, but I would say its more difficult to get the hang of then a regular short board because the thickest part is towards the front. Great for a skatey fast feel but hard to pop up on sometimes.
