How easy are the DIY spray foam insulation kits?

I want to install spray foam insulation on either the underside of the roof in my attic or on the joistsI've seen a number of kits online, and was wondering how easy the installation isI'm also looking for advice on whether it makes sense to do the ceiling or the floor? It is uninhabited space and there is a house fan on one wall and louvers for house fan on the floorI live in the northeast so the winters are cold and summers are hot.

best answer to SuperMani polished an intake manifold (rough casting to shiny aluminum) for a 454, i had over 22 hours into it and it still wasnt finishedi had spent probaly $100 in materials and supplies and i already had to tool to do it$25 is dirt cheapi ended up just sending it out to get Ceramic coated.
