Question:

How long are fire extinguishers good for?

All the fire extinguisers in my home are about 9 years old. They all still show they have a full charge. I'm just wondering, generally speaking, how long these are good for before they need replaced. The original box doesn't say. Is it safe to assume that as long as they show they have a full charge, they are still good affective?

Answer:

Last time my son got a stomach virus and was puking every hour, he was just over 2 and didn't understand the concept of puking in a bucket or the toilet. So, I stayed with him on our couch all night, and got every blanket we had in the house. I let him vomit on the blanket when he had to, and then put it in the washing machine right away. That worked for us and he was comfortable on the sofa cuddling with me. And you better believe it's contagious! I got the same thing right after my son did. I probably would have even if I made him sleep in the bathroom cause you still have to clean up the puke and you still need to give him cuddles and kisses- even more so when they are ill! At 2 in the morning when they are puking and you don't want to clean it up even if they are on a rubber sheet in the bathroomwhy would you make them stay in there sleeping in their own vomit?
Sounds like you are getting into some work. If you want to break the concrete away with a sledge hammer or a jackhammer (depending on how much you need to break away), to replace all the pipe with PVC. I think the best way for you to do it is to cut the metal pipe close to the concrete, let about 2 inches protrude, and then connect it to the new PVC with a Fern-co fitting, this is a rubber fitting with hose clamps on both sides. You will need to know the diameter of the two pipes you are trying to connect, I do HVAC and plumbing for a living, and have used these fittings countless times and they always worked for me, a life saver sometimes actually. I hope this works for you and let me know if I can help in any way.
use a no hub fitting they come in sizes so you can join different sized pipe together, either that us eaa hammer and break the old pipe away
