Question:

how long should a composite stick last? my son, 170lbs, gets 10 games max?

so far: warrior dolomite 10 games, bauer xxx sl (the new white one) 8 games, easton synergy xl (silver with red) 14 or so games, vector 2 games (peice of crap). he does not slam the stick, and it seems the shaft usually breaks midway (just past where the blade meets the shaft), or the blad will turn into a flapper. is this common???

Answer:

It should last way longer than that. Maybe he doesnt slame it but hitting the ice with it or playing street hockey with it. Wherever you are buying these sticks, you should go somewhere else. They may have glued the blade in wrong or something. Flexing the stick can make it weak too. He probably has a hard shot (slapshot) and when you take a slapshot you put a lot of weight in it. The force could snap the stick too. I have never heard of a situation like you have described. I hope this has helped.
damn. i will hear somebody's automobile alarm going off outdoors as I form. yet to respond to your question, one ring above the place the guy who invented the smoke alarm is. are you able to have faith that element wakes me up each and every evening after i've got been smoking in mattress? He likely has a hard shot and puts a lot of weight into his shot. Meaning he likely makes contact with the ice a few inches behind the puck to get the most flex out of the stick to produce that whip from the stick. The composites are nice because they are light and generate a lot of energy with a shot. The downside is that they are brittle compared to wood and two-piece sticks Plus they are expensive. _
