Question:

How to change engine. What is cold air intake?

If I wanted to change my car from a 4-cylinder to a V6 how much would that cost? Is it even possible? Also how much does it cost to get cold air intake and where can I get this done? What exactly does cold air do to your car positevly?

Answer:

Engine swaps are usually expensive, but it depends on the car. It would probably be cheaper to buy a V6 car. Cold air intakes usually cost between $200 and $300 and they are easy to install yourself. From the factory, cars have an air box that allows air into the engine. They are usually good but somewhat restrictive. Installing a cold air intake means taking out the factory air box and replacing it with a metal tube that has a cone filter at the end. This system is less restrictive than the air box and gains about 8-10hp on the average car. It's probably the most common performance upgrade.
I suggest to take the fuse out then head to a mechanic for professional advice.
Anything is possible with enough money and work and talent, but it's not always practical. A cold air intake, physically, places the filter (the inlet for air to the engine) outside of the engine bay, where it can bring in colder air, which is more dense, hence the name. Dense air makes more power. How much power, depends on the engine, but most will only see maybe 2-3hp difference, after all, it's just a filter and a plastic or aluminum tube.
Most likely there is a short in the system allowing power to flow. You need to have it looked at by someone familiar with it.
