Question:

How to Clean a Flat Iron?

How do you clean a flat iron? When I turn my on the metal starts to get a burning smellI was told that you can not put soap and water on them.

Answer:

I read that same article and the younger moms were just as judgementalI had my first child at 22 my second at 34 Ive been on the end of both a young parent and according to apparently you an older parentI have no problems with a child freaking out but as an older parent I am not here to be their friendI am here to parent them and frankly if I hurt their feelings I dont careWhen I raised my two nephews I told them long ago I was not going to be their friend, my husband says I was and still am to harsh on them yet I am the first person they come to when they have a problem, and the person they turn to when they need to talk {not their mother who is older then me and decided when she had them young she would be their friend} I agree there is no reason to be rude just because of someones ago and arent you stereotyping saying that older parents cant handle the pressure of a 3 yr old freaking out? As for TV nanniesthats just it its TVReality is different its not TelevisionI said JUDGEMENTAL not harsherAnd I am wondering why you feel the age at which you purchased your home is important? Does that really matter? No it does notBoth my husband and I are educated I have my Masters in Psychology and he owns his own business and are totally debt free we own all 3 of our homes outright, all of our cars and the only bills we have are the basics of gas, electric, water and cableLike I said I was a young mother and statics dont lie.
i can handle these things because im only 34 and i have 5 kids most older moms like to boss around
We are not in the military and don't mooch What the hell does that statement mean? Talk about being judgementalWe are a military family (Air Force)Are you implying that I'm somehow less than you because of that? Does that mean we mooch? I'm sorry but my husband works his off for his paycheck and has had to do it while in Kuwait and IraqWe are both college graduatesI've worked as a newspaper reporter and an elementary school teacherI now run my own business as a nutrition consultant for busy momsWe do quite well for ourselvesWe live in JapanWe have two great kids with a third on the wayWe live in a nice house and are debt free I'm just confused on what being in the military has to do with mooching.
I understand, I am a 25 year old stay at home mom of 2 1 on the wayI try not to put down any momsBut all age groups have problems, I constantly defend myself because people think my hubby I must be living off the state when we own our home(well paying it off) my hubby makes more than our 35 year old neighboors comindedAs ayoung mom you get sterotyped as irresponssible, uneducated, on wellfare etc, etcIt can get so annoyingOn the other hand older moms get sterotyped as well (and some deserve it, just like young momsMy mom had my sister at 40 was extremlly active w/ her but alot of older moms are not, I am a devoted mother who can't remeber the last time I had time to myself( oh, I got my teeth cleaned 3 months ago) not all young moms areIt is stupid dads don't say that old dad or young dad disrespect each otherI get so sick of it!
Step 1Turn off your ceramic flat iron and unplug itSet it down on a heat-resistant mat (instead of directly on your countertop) to avoid leaving burn marksAllow the flat iron to cool for about 5 minutesStep 2Wipe down your lukewarm ceramic flat iron with a damp paper towelThe remaining warmth will help remove any traces of hairstyling product that have just adhered to your styling toolIf there is old product buildup on your flat iron, however, you may spray it instead with a professional cleansing solution especially made for thermal hairstyling toolsThis will remove stubborn buildup without scratching your ceramic flat ironUse a soft cloth or paper towel to wipe away residue that has loosened upStep 3Reach into the tiny crevices on your ceramic flat iron with a cotton swabThis will lift away any dirt in spots that are too small to accommodate your fingerYou may also use your nail rather than a cotton swab, as long as you cover your nail with the cloth or paper towel to avoid leaving scratch marks on your hairstyling toolStep 4Avoid using abrasive solvents when cleaning your ceramic flat ironHowever, there are some household items that you can turn to if you run out of your regular professional thermal tool cleanserNail-polish remover, ammonia, spray-on oven cleaner and rubbing alcohol can each break down hardened styling product on your flat ironSaturate a cotton ball with your solvent of choice and use this to wipe away product buildupWhen you are finished, use a damp paper towel to wipe down your ceramic tool; this will clean off the solvent used, as you don't want to get it on your hair the next time you use your flat iron.
