Please help, hot oil spilled from pan in to bottom of my oven (gas) and i did not see it. my smoke alarm goes off, and i look inside oven, the bottom is on fire. I grab the abc mono something fire extinguisher and blast it, fire out. My problem is the clean up. I looked around online, and what i am seeing is that this kind of dry chem extinguisher is corrosive. I cleaned the other surfaces, but the oven has a ton of dry powder and what looks like bubbled/ foamed white plastic. ithink this is baked on chemical agent. My next problem is, from what i read, i can not leave to long as it is corrosive. It becomes MORE corrosive as water mixes with it. NO oven cleaner should be used ( bad chem mix). So I ask from anyone who knows HOw do i save this oven, I just do not have the money to replace it.
