Question:

how to disconnect a car alarm?

my alarm just started going off in the garage today for no reason and it wont stop. i tried the button, the override switch and disconnected the battery. but if i connect it again it still goes off. i need it off so it will start and i can drive it

Answer:

are you stealing it? gotta check just in case either your system has a back up battery that is shorted out, a key fob that has lost programming, or something set it off like someone was messing with it either way you should be able to connect the battery cable and press the disarm button on your remote to turn it off. if you can't you'll need to disconnect the power source to the alarm and have a installer fix or replace whatever part is bad.
Happen to me once and cars started to pull over off the road. lol Now you probably don't want to do this but I just cut the wires under my hood were the alarm is. I had a cheap alarm that a non professional put in and didn't care.
Differential cover needs to come off, pinion pin removed, axel clip removed, axel pulled all the way out and seal replaced. Reverse procedure to put back together and diff refilled with required fluid. You in for that?
Find the brain and unplug it. If you had a back up battery it would still sound with the main battery disconnected. Sounds like your transmitter battery may have died. Did you follow the appropriate procedure with the valet (override) switch? Most alarms require you to turn the car on, press or flip the switch, and turn the key off.
