Question:

How to fix a broken office chair?

I have a pretty basic office swivel chair, but the back of it is now very wobbly. It tilts to the right and back a bit most of the time, but can be rotated to stay upright like a normal chair back. I checked underneath the chair and it seems like there's nothing there to really secure the connection to the back. I've also tried tightening that knob on the bottom of the chair but it doesn't do anything. What can I do about this??

Answer:

Office chairs are assembled. Here is what I would do: 1. Disassemble it. 2. Inspect pieces to see if anything is broken or stripped 3a. If all is fine, reassemble. The issue may have been resolved. 3b. If an item is broken, see if you can source a replacement part. Best of luck.
Tell your supervisor, if he/she is descent management material you should have your new office chair within a couple of days. Any work equipment issues should be brought up to a supervisor, your job title isnt chair specialist or office mechanic.
sale in second hand shop
You haven't named the manufacturer of the chair. If this is a STEELCASE chair it has a lifetime guarentee, call your dealer who sells Steelcase office equipment. But then if it was a Steelcase chair it probably wouldn't need fixing. Contact the manufacturer and ask them for help.
