Question:

How to fix Dodge Intrepid anti-lock brakes?

Yesterday my 96 Dodge Intrepid started pumping the Anti-Lock Brakes when I got between 10-15 mph. There are no lights on the dash coming on, but the problem occurs in about 9/10 decelerations when coming to a stop. I just replaced the subframe bushings, headlights, and some hoses, so I want to keep the car. I‘d rather not take it into the mechanic as I can usually do most work myself, but this time I just don‘t know what the cause of the problem is or could be. Any suggestions?

Answer:

yes if you pull the fuse you can use the brakes normally you obviously wont have abs and the light will stay on but the brakes will work fine.
Try wheel speed sensors first. In particular check if you damaged one of the connectors. After that it's either the ABS pump or ABS controller. My money is on your having damaged or loosened a sensor or wire if you just did the other work.
