Question:

How to keep windshield wipers working (and windows clean) when its COLD (10 degrees F or lower)?

Are there any manufacturers who make cars which address this problem, like maybe heat on the wipers? I‘ve driven General motors products for years, and have always had the same problem. I‘m getting tired of stopping and manually cleaning the front windshield, because the wipers are too frozen out of shape to confornm to the windshield.

Answer:

My Toyota 4Runner has a electrically heated windshield in the wiper area to address this problem, some GM vehicles have heated washer fluid, this is also a system you can retrofit. Getting the new frame less wipers helps, good -40 degree windshield washer fluid with teflon helps.
The good ol smack the wiper against the windshield! Got to love it. Besides washer fluid with antifreeze and keep the defrost on high I dont know there is another option.
