How to uproot a tree trunk and all the roots below
I think the usual way is to cut down the tree, grind the stump to below surface level ( with specialised tool) and then poison the roots by drilling into them and putting salt or other in them. As some root systems travel many meters it is sometimes not wise to try to remove them as nearby structures can be destabilised
