Question:

How to make edges of cut aluminum flashing less sharp?

Hi, we are trying to do a special project using a sheet of cut aluminum flashing attached to the bottom of our gate so the dog can't see out as easilyWe made the cuts and are about to spray paint but have found the edges (especially the cut ones) to be very sharp and have both gotten bad paper-like cutsAny ideas how to protect the exposed edge so no one gets hurt?My first thought was a report sleave - like the ones i used to put my book reports in.

Answer:

I don't really have any ideas why, but why are you using your cell phone in your own house? Why not use the house phone?
You need to dull the sharp edgesTry dragging the edge of some leftover flashing down the length of your installationIf that doesn't work try 000 steel wool or doubled up sandpaper (fine) along the sharp edge.
