I want to overclock my laptop to play a racing game. Here are my laptop specification.:Laptop:HP PavilionDV6-6050CPU:Intel Core i5 2410M @ 2.30GHzMemory:4 GBOS:Windows 7 Home Premiumthis is it

Answer:

overclocking is harmful for laptops. it should be done only on desktops. overclocking produces more heat than normal and this reduces the life span of the laptop. Apart from this, under extreme conditions, ur laptop may start BURNING after intensive gaming. So, don't overclock. One of my friends ruined his laptop due to overclocking; :'(
I agree with everyone here agrees that overclocking a laptop can be harmful cause it to overheat quickly.
I wouldn't recommend over clocking a laptop due to the cooling system most laptops have. If you over clock a laptop, you run the risk over heating the thing, however, if you have a desktop, you might have better luck at it with the right cooling system.
