Question:

Career in Real estate consulting?

how to proceed for a career in real estate consulting(appraisal,investment,brokerag... would an MBA degree helpI have degree in architecture

Answer:

An MBA may or may not be of benefit (although if you did, I'd get one in finance) - if you're going to do investment sales it would probably be of benefit, also, if you're going to work for a large firm, eg., CBRE, Jones Lang LaSalle, Sperry Van Ness, it may help get your foot in the door. Okay now - let me consult you - how 'about stop asking the same question.
I am a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser and I get compensated for my time as a consultant. I have a B.A. in Business and have been in the industry for over 5 years and have taken numerous appraisal classes, tests etc. Clients will not deal with you unless they know you are an expert . I personally feel that an MBA will look good in front of clients but they will not hire you if that's all you have with no real world experience. In my opinion you should get a job with a consultant firm and if you chose obtain an MBA in the process.
usually to consult, you need to know what you are talking about. Real estate is a broad field.
