Question:

how to seal copper pipe joint leak?

how to seal copper pipe joint leak?

Answer:

empty the copper pipe, of all water, buy a torch like lenox brand, and some MAPP gas, not propane and a roll of solder you can solder the joints, like if it is a 90 (elbow) you can reseal both sides with the solder, if you feel like you need a new fitting.buy a new one, and you can sweat off the old one by melting the solder that's holding it on on both sides and resoldering it. it's not really too hard just need the right tools, don't let solder drip in your torch tip or it will ruin it *edit* IT IS VERY important to make sure there is no water in the pipe, or the solder will not stick
Hi Paul, If you're only going to use them like an average weekend warrior, they can be a decent value. If you DO buy one of those, go into it with your eyes wide open. They are made in the Republic of China, have inferior gearing materials (plastic gears vs. steel gearing in the name-brand tools), and are good for only so many hours. Work time is the same (until they die). Buy a name-brand tool, and your kids will hand it down to THEIR kids!!

Most are made in China anyway. Those that I have used seem about the same.
