X or Y direction, you can mark the surface of the workpiece, and choose a milling cutter with smaller width than the groove. The workpiece surface gently milling 2MM, than the depth required on the drawings on the line, and then the knife in the direction of Z back out, measuring the size of just milling on it. The direction of the Z needless to say, ah, the same way.
