How would you define decorative lettering and scrip lettering?

Answer:

It is He Who created you from a single person, and made his mate of like nature, in order that he might dwell with her (in love). When they are united, she bears a light burden and carries it about (unnoticed).

Define Decorative
Script lettering is another word for a cursive or handwriting font. Decorative is a more generic name for lettering that is designed more for it's fancy, elaborate or whimisical qualities, instead of for its readability. Letters that are compressed very tightly, or that have particularly curvy, distorted or busy serifs or other elements are considered decorative. The fonts you see on old circus posters, or on signs you see printed on the buildings in old Western films are decorative. Old English or other Gothic forms are decorative because they are meant to convey a feeling before they are meant to be read. Other fonts that are NOT decorative are deliberately designed for easy reading, either as large headlines, (Helvetica, Ariel, etc.) or in paragraphs of a lot of text. (Times, Garamond, Bookman, etc.)
