How would you find a sunken ship carrying 500 tons of iron ore that went down in shallow water?

Answer:

Search the area with a Magnetic Anomaly Detector.
Firstly congratulations on getting the weight off. The best of the Kawasaki 'learner' bikes in my opinion is the 250, they are not overly powerful but have enough for most beginners to be happy with, some people never look for more power and are more than happy with 'their' bike. They are light and nimble, an excellent gearbox and brakes and definitely a fun bike to go for a ride. As for price you could contact your local Kawasaki shop as prices will vary depending on transport costs. While lessons are not required they are a good investment as you will get expert advise and tuition that will make learning easier and your riding safer as you should get plenty of riding tips, look at the cost as an investment in both you and the bikes safety. You will have to have your license endorsed to ride a motor cycle, it depends where you live(state wise) as to that cost. Insurance depends on a lot of factors like your driving and riding experience, and yes, driving counts with most companies, where you live and how the bike is stored when not in use(a locked up garage, driveway, and so on). I would phone a few insurance companies to get quotes but beware of the fine print where they might say if you get charged by the police after an accident then the insurance isn't covering you, check on the excess also. It all sounds a bit of too much but take it a step at a time and you will have the time of your life.
Bravo on the weight loss, feels good I bet. Take a rider course at local junior college or Harley offers a program. That's one costs a bit more, but same affect. Learn on the bike you feel comfortable on. Rules of that; 1) make sure your feet can be flat on stop. 2) your not crapped up or stretched out. 3) remember take your time, you only go as fast as you turn your right hand. Most noobs go for WFO( wide F ing open) rite out of the gate. Don't do that. Take your time. Slow and steady. Any idiot can go fast. I taught my wife to ride last year. She has her own CRF 230. She won't ride street. Cool with me. So we dirt ride together. Remember its not you when you fall on the street. It's the idiot that tail gate you and runs you down. I've been riding dirt 30 years and street almost 20. Just use your head. If it doesn't feel rite. It's not.
500 tons is not alot, picture about 10 dump truck loads, and its ore, not steel if the boat was made of steel, you may pick it up with the mag, but if it was wood, and how long ago, this may be difficult. fresh or salt water makes a big difference because of the density and properties. dragging a cable and looking at where it hangs up is where we find most shallow targets any more info?
The pros use a device called a magnetometer, which is towed behind a boat just above the bottom. They're much like the compass a previous answerer mentioned, except they can be interfaced with a computer that graphs the output data to make it easier to visualize submerged metals.
