Are there any special procedures to bleed brakes on a Pontiac grand am (1995) there is no fluid coming out, but there is fluid where it is supposed to be.
hi the brake system is a split system.approx.75% pressure to the front 25% to the rear.this is controlled by the proportioning valve located several inch,s underneath the master cylinder.it also provide,s a Second function.it will cut off flow to either the front or rear in case of hydraulic failure.sometime,s when someone start,s to bleed the system the valve will interrupt flow sensing a loss of pressure if this has happened it will be necessary to recenter the valvethis can be a bit tricky.bleed front to rear back again till the valve center,s [ gently] with ignition in on position the brake warning light will turn off when centered.then go to the valve insert a lock pin in the valve so normal bleeding can take place.don,t forget to remove the pin after your done.one other thing.are you bleeding a front caliper?.they have had a problem with the brake hose,s.they deteriorate on the inside preventing fluid from flowingreplacement is the only cure for thatgood luck!
it takes two people to do this properly first start with the right rear and with some one in the car open the bleeder screw and have them push the pedal to the floor and hold it then tighten the bleeder and repeat the process on each wheel. until all the air is out of the lines. make sure you check the fluid in the reservoir after each wheel.
Go to Walmart for cheap NEW tires, if you can't afford that and you need them, try a junkyard/salvage yard.
