I am planning a 3 day weekend in DC with my boyfriendWe won't have a car and are on a budgetWe'd like to hit the typical attractions, museums, zoo, white houseI am looking for some recommendations on areas to stay since i dont know much about how the city is laid outWe'd like to either be able to walk everywhere or take the subway as long as its just a short convenient ride awayCan you recommend some areas so i can search better on booking sites? Not sure what your price range is, but I'd recommend looking around Crystal City, Virginia (near National Airport)There are a lot of hotel options there, and it's a very close Metro ride into downtown WashingtonIt's a safe area, and although the hotels are all large chain hotels, they're generally geared towards business travelers (so will probably be cheaper on weekends), and clean, comfortable, and efficientThey're probably cheaper than staying right downtown but very close so if you're only looking for a place to sleep and shower, I'd say look around there.
