Question:

plastic window blinds?

i bought two white window blinds and then when i got home, i realized the color doesn't go with the color of my wall. black blinds would suit my wall better. so what kind of paint should i buy to color over the plastic surface of the blinds? thank you!

Answer:

Krylon brand plastic spray paint,
Modeling paint seems to about your best bet as it is made for plastic but it only comes in small tins so you may need a few.
If they're mini-blinds, don't bother trying to paint them. Yes, you can change the colour, by using spray paint that's made for plastics, but by the time you get enough paint on them to do that, you have enough that the blinds won't go up and down very well if at all and it will be hard to change the direction of the vanes. Unless you just want to put them on the window and never open them, paint isn't very successful on blinds.
you would have to remove each slat to paint them, as painting them in place will cause the string that moves the blinds back and forth from open to closed to stick to the slats and make the whole thing stop working. I don't know what you paid, but the best course of action would be to return the white ones and buy black. If they don't stock black, you can order them. Way simpler and way more feasible than painting the slats. Even if you had the patience to remove them, paint them and replace them, the chance of keeping the complex string harness in place during that process is pretty unlikely
