Question:

I can hear the radio through my guitar amp and i want to stop it?

I have a vox vt15 and everytime i plug it in it gets radio interfernce how can you stop that. i heard there are some noise suppressors that get rid of guitar hum but my guitar dosent hum its my amp would it still help get rid of the radio interference? also i heard somthing about copper sheeting like you could wrap it around somthing inside your amp and it helps prevent radio interference how do you do that?

Answer:

Most likely, the interference is getting in through your cable. A cheap cable, or one that has a problem with the shield will act like an antenna. If you unplug the cable and turn up the amp, does the problem go away? If so, then it's the cable. The easiest thing is to try another cable. Not one of the $5 ones in the bucket by the register at Guitar Center. Get a Live Wire or Planet Waves. Skip the Monster Cables.way over priced and just a bunch of hype. If that doesn't help, then you need an additional filter installed in your amp. It's a very simple mod that will note affect your tone, but will shunt the radio frequencies to ground. Good luck. How would you get radio interference? What do you have connected to the vt15, what pedals, what guitar, anything else?
Very common issue, my very expensive Mesa Boogie does the same thing at home. No idea how to stop it though. It does not do it in other locations.
