i dont have the original remote to my tv but i have the sony d900 speaker system remote that controls my tv..how do i remove the little screen/box?
If you are just starting, a 1:1 epoxy resin will be your best bet. There are several manufacturers, they are all basically the same, clear, and cost about $15 for an 8 oz bottle of resin and an 8 oz bottle of activator. You can find it at craft stores, hobby stores, and hardware stores. Envirotex Lite is one brand name I can think of. Start with that. If you find you are making LOTS of cabochons, you can then start buying the stuff in bulk. A gallon of resin (1/2 gal each of resin and activators) runs about $50-60 online, plus shipping.
