Question:

I have 2 crested geckos and I'm worried that its not warm enough, Could I put a blanket on the bottom and top of the cage to keep them warm?

The room temperature is low 70s or high 60s

Answer:

You need more than a blanketLow 70s is the low end night time temperatureHigh 60s is a low end night time winter temperatureYou would be wise to pick up a low wattage incandescent bulb or heat emitterYou should aim to keep the warmest end of the enclosure at around 78-82degrees Fahrenheit with a drop to mid 70s being availableWhile cresties do not need UVB lighting, they still require calcium with vitamin D3 supplementation.
foil doesn't conduct heat, so it stays coolpans do conduct heat, so they get hotWood is a bit more heat conductive than metal, but not nearly as much as metal, so if you leave a wooden spoon in a pot of simmering spaghetti sauce it'll still be ok to grab the handle (it might be a bit warm, but not hot to the point of burning you).
