Question:

I have a 1998 Accord, the lights blink at night when I open the windows. Is this a electrical issue or not?

I have talked to people that say all Honda's do this, but the guy at the dealership said it could be something bigger. He wouldn't go into detail, I think he just wanted to get my car in to get it looked at and have me pay 150 bucks. If it is the alternator, than how much do those cost?Any help or do you have the same problem.

Answer:

it should not be a problem all that matters is that they are 26 the 1.75 are thinner and the 2.125 are a bit thicker but yeah you can switch them.
the rims wouldn't be a problem, they would fit the 26 x 2.125. you should however check the clearance of the frame and the fork if the wider tires would fit both.
If by blink you mean dim slightly when the window motor is being operated? If so then there is resistence in the circuit (bad connection, corrosion) or you just have a weak alternator and battery which is gonna cost you about $200.
Please give more information about the symptom. Which lights blink? By 'blink' do you mean dim, get brighter, shut off then come back on? Do you have manual or power windows? Does this only happen at night? Or, does this happen any time? Is the vehicle running when you do this? Or, is the key turned on, engine off? You can roll the windows up/down after shutting the engine off, key off if you do not open a door. Give me more information and I may be able to help you.
By lights blink do you mean that they dim when you use auxiliary electrical stuff? If so, you're alternator is probably bad, or something else in the charging system. Get it checked out for free at Auto Zone, or whatever. One of those national chains will check that stuff for free.
