It sounds like a transmission delay if your car hesitates for even a half of second then you know, or it could be a O2 sensor misfiring and it reports a code / check engine light take it to chevy pay 80.00 at service and they'll find exactly what and where the problem is do not forget to print service coupons from their website (your local chevy dealer)
There's a solenoid stuck open for the purge line or the pressure sensor on the tank is bad giving a false reading. I doubt it's the gas cap. Those codes are P0442 and P0455 etc.
the evap system uses a fuel tank pressure sensor to verify system is purging when the computer commands it on,it does this by turning on the purge solenoid valve. the most common cause of a flow during non purge is a sticking purge valve,also if the vacuum lines are switched at the valve it will also cause this concern.(a loose gas cap will not cause this dtc it will set a po440)
