Question:

How do I get my power locks to work again?

I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally edition. My car is equipped with power locks and keyless entry(unfortunately the previous owner broke the remote and never replaced it). But I got the car used and the power locks have not worked since I bought the car.I have checked the fuse that is supposed to coordinate with the Power door locks(Bank 15, 15A) and it is all good. even replaced it with a brand new one for good measure. I have taken the door panel off and checked the connections to the switch that is in the door and found that there were no loose wires or bad connections. Please help me in knowing what I need to look into next and where I need to go or what I need to do to get my power locks to work again. Thanks so much for your feedback, really appreciate it!!!

Answer:

First i would recommend getting a Haynes or equal handbook. i purchase them each time i purchase a motor vehicle in order that i do realize the thank you to paintings on them. Locks: with out the handbook for education i would say to start at the fuse and the switches checking for voltage employing a multimeter. From there trace the wiring and be sure for breaks if you havepersistent at the fuse and the change yet they notwithstanding do not paintings that is probably the change. If there is nopersistent at the fuse then trace decrease back from there. From what I even were able of finding there are not any relays for the locks and the locks malfunctioning looks a straight forward subject. homestead windows: In my resources part you will discover a link to a clarification of the position the window relay is placed interior of the fuse field less than the hood. If the relay is robust then i would stick to a matching technique that I defined interior of the part above. Troubleshooting electronics is without doubt one of the greater demanding activities on a motor vehicle reliable success! :)
