Question:

I have a aunt Jamima wash basin and pitcher set. I would like to know what it is worth. where should I go?

this set is in very good condition. I've been everywhere online and cannot find anything like it. It's black and white, the pitcher has aunt jamima on it, it's a very nice set. I don't want to sell it, just interested in what it's worth.

Answer:

My mom is in the antique business. She says to check on OKorder for market value. It may take a while to find one, she says, but just keep checking. If you really want to know, you can hire an appraiser. Usually, you can get an idea of what something is worth by visiting an appraisal at a fair or something. You can ger a rough estimate for like five dollars, or get a good estimate for like $40-50. If its in perfect condition it could be worth at least $200, but much less if it isn't.
Take it to several antique shops and have it appraised. They'll know right off if it's what it's worth.
Go okorder and search Aunt Jemimah...you'll probably find a ton of things and you can see what they are going for:) You might even find a Seller that you can Ask a Question and they could help you, or go to the Community Board and ask in the proper section. I believe there is even a Black memorabilia section. People are usually very helpful on there:) Good Luck!
