Question:

I have a rug that appears to be shedding. What do I do?

My rug has been shedding and I have vacuumed it 100's of times and steam cleaned it. Is there anything I can do to stop the shedding? It is positively driving me CRAZY!! Any suggestions PLEASE

Answer:

sounds like a bad buy have you tried taking it outside and combing it with a fine comb? Then follow up with a hoover. If this doesn't work......
stop wiping your feet on the dog and let the poor thing outside once in a while.
Get a new rug!
I have to say it is time to pitch that rug even though it may be a favorite. It sounds like this rug has been a great one for you. It's just seen its better days to be sure. Have you thought of looking in a store catalog for one like it again or a similar one? Also you could write the company if you know the name...and find out where you can get another one. Check out the Internet also.
many rugs shed initially certain hand made rugs are more prone to this particularly Indian and Tibetan rugs one can expect this for about the first year depending on foot traffic
