I have had my heat ex changer replaced. My furnace does not heat like it did before. any sugestions?

Answer:

There are a number of possible reasons.A new heat exchanger should put out about the same amount of heat as the old one. It depends somewhat on the model of furnace. Some furnaces have air baffles in them and have to be adjusted when they are serviced. Did the installer change the speed of your blower? If they slowed it down, it can make a difference. Are the duct work distribution valves adjusted properly? Is the plenum sensor adjusted properly? Bottom line: Call the people who installed the new heat exchanger and ask them. They should come over and check it out at no charge. There is always a possibility that they made a mistake. But, they should be able to give you a satisfactory explanation for the difference.
It is quite possible the one that was installed is not as powerful as the old one you had? Kinda like putting a small motor in a big truck?
