Question:

Tile Cutting Service?

I have three ceramic tiles that need a special curved cut. I‘m just looking for some place where I can take the tiles in and they cut them for me onsite and I walk out with my cut tiles. Home Depot doesn‘t offer this service. Who does? I live in Atlanta.

Answer:

Cutting Tile In Place
Two reasons why our store may not cut the tile for you. First, is the location that you're trying to get the tile cut, the same place where you purchased it? If not, then if there is a miscut, there would be no way to replace that tile. Secondly you mention that you want a curved cut, many wet saw setups are for straight cuts, which the retail establishment that I work at has. They usually charge only for straight cuts. Curved cuts are labor intensive and call for many small straight cuts. My recommendation, invest in a rotozip, or dremel and make the cut on your own.
your going to have to go to a real tile store for cutting holes and delicate curves and such. They wont charge you much. Be aware, a tile could still break even when being cut correctly. Most contractors wont be able to do this either. A so so curve can be cut on a wet tile saw. But, are you going to drive around building sites until you find a contractor with his tile saw set up ? :) Just find a real tile store, they will gladly do it. John
Try your local flooring stores. The store I work in cuts tile so I would assume most flooring stores could.
Look in the phone book, or newspaper for tile installers. You can tell them your situation, and offer them a 6 pack or something if you could bring the tile to their job site, and they can cut it there. This way it's not that big of an inconvenience to them, or to you
