Question:

I have Time Warner Cable. How do I remove closed captioning from my TV screen?

Hello. I have Time Warner Cable. I accidentally activated closed captioning with my remote control, and I don't know what I did to activate it. I tried contacted TWC customer service about it and I did what they told me to do, and it didn't help. How do I get closed captioning off my TV? Please let me know. Thank you. :D

Answer:

check the settings on you tv and turn off cc, or if you have a cable box check in the stting to see if it is on there as well
move to philly and get Comcast Cable
LOOK at your TV REMOTE. Do you see a button labled CC or CAPT? Press it ntinue to press it over and over until the word OFF appears. Now wait. Do you still see the CAPTIONS appearing? If so, you now have to use the TW cable REMOTE. Set it for CABLE, not TV at the top of the remote. NOW, LOOK for the CC or CAPT button on that. Isn't there? Ok, go INTO the TW menu/setup.Look for a Video or Audio based ICON.select it, find the CC or Caption selection and turn it OFF. I doubt the problem is with your boxyou turned on the TV's captioning.
