Question:

New or used tires?

I heard many people say never buy used tires, people also say buy brand name tires only. In steps my question, my tires are as bad as they can get and it is going in to winter. I have enough money to A: Buy brand name tires used or B: Buy cheap name tires new. What is my best option?

Answer:

Not sure about trading but you might be able to find yourself a brembo brake system for your Talon. Just have to look around.
I have driven for over 50 years .well past a million miles safely .that does not mean slow I have more speeding tickets in more countries than 99% of this world but never harmed anybody I learnt a long time ago .never ever buy cheap tyres .look at your hand .that's the area of contact with the road .that's very little .so you want the very best money can buy .after all its your life that depends on it and your passengers
Used tires are probably came out of the car junkyard. It is hard to find a good set of used tires. You don't usually get the same rubbers on all 4 tires. Some of them have different rims, treads and tread wears. Many are cracked as I saw them on my dad's car. Price aren't that cheap for used tires. I would buy cheap news. Some Chinese brands have decent reviews, but I don't trust them, and I don't want to support them. Cooper tires, and some American brands are very cheap too. I would get a set from them. Another set of winter tires to go in the winter. They are expensive but they make a different.
I have done both. Used tires are cheaper but they also need to be replaced more often. If you get cheap tires, make sure they are not made in China. I have gotten good service from Korean made Kumho ASX series tires.
