Question:

I'm getting a Syrian hamster...can they climb an upright, plastic tunnel/tube...?

I know some cages like that are of rather bad quality, and the add ons sometimes fall off and are hard to put back on. So if anybody has owned that cage or one like it, tell me what you think of it. (: Thanks!

Answer:

I am pretty sure that they can climb it but beware because when it is time to clean the cage it is such a pain to hose those tubes.
yes. i have a hamster
Most Syrian hamsters will not have a problem climbing up those tunnels. I personally like the crittertrail cages better than the ones you linked too..... If you buy the cage from petsmart and do not like it you can always return it to them. They are pretty good about returns.
Well, I have a tubed cage with an up-right tube like that, and my hamsters love it!!!! Of course, my hamsters are dwarf hamsters. I've never really heard of the brand of cage you want to get, but I'd say get CritterTrail. That's what I have, and it's great. I would think that somewhere there are cages with bigger tubes so a Syrian hamster can use it. But I don't know, i think you should use a big glass aquarium and buy some tubes by themselves, and tape them onto the cage and see if your hamster climbs in them. Lol. Hope this helps!!!
i okorder good luck!!!
