Question:

How to put new wheels on derby skates?

I‘m just starting roller derby and I‘m trying to figure out how to put outdoor wheels on my skates. I have the wheels and bearings, and some tools, I just don‘t know how to put the wheels on. X3

Answer:

very confusing step. look into with google or bing. this might help!
I'm sure you know where the bearings go put them in with either a bearing press, or really you can just use your hands if your hands are strong. take the nut off the track on your skates (the roundish part that looks like it's holding your wheels on sits above the bearing) and the old wheels will come right off. slide the new wheels onto the post that's left, and tighten the nut around it (not too tight though just tight enough so your wheels don't wobble). I just hope you mean indoor/outdoor wheels rather than outdoor outdoor will **** you up on the track. try sugar wheels and if you're just trying to do this so you get more grip, put for sticky wheels (for example, the sugars mentioned above) on the left side of your skates (so it'd be inside on your right foot, outside on your left) and keep your regular wheels on the other side. they'll help you keep your speed and the indoor/outdoor will help you keep your grip. hope that helps!
