Answer:

No and if they are wet they will be worse than nothing at all. Please respect tree roots when you are digging.
You should use Aveeno continuous protection Sunblock Lotion. it is design to use especially for your face and its great. it does not irratiate ur skin at all. You can get this from a walgreen or many other places.
I want to know more about this too
There may be a Call Before You Dig law in your area. This way the utility companies will locate electric, water, gas and communication lines for your safety and others. Not using the CBYD service can be illegal if active. It is very expensive to fix a cut communication line, and hitting a poly gas line with post hole diggers is not a fun thing to do (I've done both). Look into it, and look into your rights as a worker and make sure you always have the proper PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). Never use a metal handled tool such as a shovel. Use wood or fiberglass only as they will not conduct electricity. When located, utilities will usually be marked with spray paint (or flags) on the ground. Electric is usually red, Gas is yellow, Water is blue and Communications possibly green. This may change from state to state and it has been a few years since I have had to pay attention to the colors of the markings so my memory might not be 100% accurate. Be safe and don't do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. Oh and if you suddenly encounter sand underground, proceed with caution. Sand usually surrounds underground utilities.
