I am trying to replace my cigarette lighter on my car. The replacement requires the wiring to to be redone. It has a terminal wire attached to it, but when I attach it to the wire on the car it doesn't work. After reading the reviews on the product everyone has said the wiring needs to be redone. What wires do I connect to what (Positive, negative, terminal). I am using product REPU506801.
You need to get a test light and find a wire under the dash or coming from the ignition that has power when the key is turned on. If you want the plug to have power when the key is off then you will need to find a wire that has power when the key is off. Once you find the wire make sure its thicker wire and splice into it.
