Question:

I need some information about cold air intakes?

I have a 2009 Honda civic ex and I want to get a cold air intake for something new. I want to buy a cheap one for a couple months so I have a little more money on hand. Do you think that would be ok? My friend thinks I should buy an expensive one from Ingen but I want to hold off. Also, what are the benefits to adding a cold air intake other than horsepower ? Thank you

Answer:

there have been many problems reported with cold air intakes messing up computers, cars refusing to start check engine lights things like that (not fitting correctly. I suggest you go to your mechanic and ask him mine told me that they were crap and not worth the money. If you wanto save money then admire the cold air intake that came on your car already? what is wrong with it.?
cold air intakes are for performance some are cute to look at but they are Mint to add power that's about it and in some cases will screw with the check engine light
