Question:

i plan on getting a syrain hamster are critter trail cages safe for them with tubes?

ive heard stories about syrian hamsters getting stuck in tubes.

Answer:

wellll keep in shape and it will be fine
no don't use those! the tubes are way too tight for syrian hamsters trust me i owned one before and if the hamster decides to pee in the tubes it is impossible to clean! besides hamsters would be much happier in bigger cages like a bin cage!
Well, I have a syrian hamster and he has a Habitrail Ovo Studio. The tubes are bigger than the Crittertails and he walks through the tubes without even touching them. it was an expensive cage, but definatly worth it
Hello, It would be smarter if you didn't use that kind of cage. The plastic tubes fall apart and it's not very safe or secure for the hamster. A Syrian hamster Shouldn't get stuck, but you never know. I perfer to use aquariums with wire lids. They work amazing. Or else get a plastic storage container (square bucket thing) and drill holes into the sides and roof. (don't put the holes to big or close together; cage may crack or hamster may get out). I'm not fond or the critter trail cages, especially those with plastic tubes. I Hope this Helps!
