Answer:

ok since the stream is being shot at an angle we must first break down velocity into vertical and horizontal components. horizontal component of the stream is 36.8*cos(38.1) 28.96 m/s vertical component 36.8*sin(38.1) 22.71 m/s the horizontal component will determine when the stream reaches the building lets calculate this first to know exactly at what time this happens assuming the stream leaves the hose at time 0(t0) as there are no forces acting in the horizontal direction other than the horizontal component of stream and we know that the stream is traveling at 28.96 m/s, how long will it take the stream to travel a horizontal distance of 40.3 meters? 28.96*t 40.3 t 1.392 secondsthis is how long it will take for the stream to reach the building next we need to find out at what height the stream will make contact, the first part we just found will be crucial to answering this next part. in the vertical direction we have the vertical component of the stream acting up and the force of gravity acting down. from the basic formulas of velocity and acceleration we see: p(t) (a/2)*t^2+ v0*t + p0 position at a given time acceleration/2*time^2 + initial velocity*time+ initial position v(t) a*t + v0 velocity at a given time is acceleration*time + initial velocity a(t) aacceleration a in this case is simply g -9.8 m/s^2i define g as negative because it acts downward so we know when it makes contact now lets see where it happens using p(t) p(1.392) (a/2)*(1.392)^2 + 22.71(1.392) + 0 22.71 because that is our initial velocityand 0 because our initial position is ground level solving accordingly we get contact at a height of22.12 m
Just duplicate the layer then flip it. after that lower the opacity and skew the layer if it is uneven.
