Question:

I want to be a disco ball for halloween and i don't know what materials to use to make it?

i want it to be round and keep its shape but i also want to be able to sit down and move around a little

Answer:

Sure, use premade doughAnd go to the dollar store get foil pans, then bend them into a heart shapeA lot cheaper than a regular heart-shaped pan!
Keep in mind you can bake it in a regular round cake pan (be sure to butter it well so you can get it back out) and once it's cooled, cut away the parts that aren't needed to make the heartSave the parts you cut away and use them for making a parfait laterThat is what you generall do when you are making something like a teddy bear cake when you don't have the correct panYou can use your cookie dough but keep in mind the bigger, the longer it will take - and you don't want a recipe for a crisp cookie or it will be tough to cutMrsField's cookie was decorated with icing around the edges and that will cover where you cut.
I can't tell by your name and lack of avatar if you're male or female, so I can't tell you exactly how to do itWhat I can tell you, however, is we did this the one year with one of my patients at a Halloween dance, so it does look awesome when all is said and doneIf you're female, you can get away with wearing pantyhose and a pair of short shortsCut out leg holes in a lawn-sized trash bagUse the ties on the top the create something like sleevesStuff the bag as needed to get the round shape you desire - use newspaper, pillows, whatever you feel most comfortable stuffing withBest to have someone help you to gauge how round you're getting and where you need extra stuffingThen you can take cds like the other person suggested (they work really well - use a hot glue gun to secure them to the bag) and tape/glue aluminum foil in the exposed areasIf you're a guy, start with a pair of khakis (no offense, but no one likes to see near-naked legs on a dude), and do all of the aboveThe downside is it'll be near impossible to set up this costume before hand, so be prepared to take about half an hour to an hour to put it together with a friendEDIT for one sexy biatch: I like the mirror pieces thing, too, but you'll run into a lot of problems with thatFirst, you'll have to break a lot of mirrors (that's lotsa bad luck) or find lots of broken mirrors to have enough pieces to cover youSecond, the pieces won't be a uniform shape - you'll have all sorts of shapes and sizes, and that's not really going to give you a good disco ball effectThe third problem is the biggest - real mirror pieces are going to be extremely sharp - you don't want to end up in an ER on HalloweenIt's just not funAnd hey, if you don't have the CDs saved up, you can pick up a pack or two of blank CDs fairly cheap at, like, Walmart or something.
You can get some cookie dough and cut out herat shaped cookie.
pre-maid dough would be a lot easieryou can get a big or small cookie cutter or a cookie tray that is in the shape of a heart, anywhere.
