Answer:

I would say it should be okay, we usually put a towel under the set when placing on nice furnitureKeep an eye on it for a few days, especially after it is on for several hoursIf it gets warm or too hot, you can put squares of felt under the feet of the TVEven fleece could work for that, if the felt is not long enough.
You might want to look for something that has more of a non skid backing.like a rug or something so that it doesn't get bumped and slide off (I know it's heavy and unlikely, but still.)
I want to believe that newer TV's especially flat screens don't generate as much heat as their large predessors, but I'd probably bit the bullet and get a desk cover from Staples or some such, or use a piece of rubberized material such as Shower pan liner or flooring underlayment Actually if I had a flat screen, I'd hang itSteven Wolf
Probably safeJust make sure that no cooling air vents are blockedWith a plasma unit, most of these are above the baseIf there are vents on the bottom, just place a stiff item on the afghan under the 'feet` of the base so that air can flow.
Meatloaf with corn 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (leaner is better) 1 cup 2% milk 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1/4 teaspoon dried sage 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 small onion, finely chopped 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs 1/2 cup ketchup or barbecue sauce Sides sweet canned corn Heat up corn with juice in deep panNot deep deep but deeper than something you'd cook an egg in.
