Question:

I want to make a Roll Cage for my Traxxas Slash 4x4 but I have some problems?

First off i don't know what materials to useI know it needs to be light but durablei was thinking aluminum or some kind of small tubingif i were to use tubing what kind and where can i get some? also i don't have the equipment to weld aluminumunless you use a torch but i don't know how toSo what should i useI have a wooden dowel full size model of what i am makingi just need to know what to make it out of and where to get it.

Answer:

If you go to home depot, lowes or a TSC.pretty much any hardware store, you can get solid metal rods in any lengthEven the size of the dowels you used for the modelYou would need something to cut the rod to the lengths you needAn air cutter or dremmelAnd if you have a mig or tig welder you are setIf you use aluminum, one good hit/crash and it will bend it out of shapeYou can bend the steal too but not as easilyI have made a few roll cages for my Revo and Maxx but if you don't have the right tool to make it with, you are going to run into frustration and problemsHope this helps.
