Question:

Wet carpet?

I was cleaning my room, and the rug smelled funny so I got some carpet cleaner spray and some water, and scrubbed a large section of it. And that was like 2 days ago!And it still feels soaking wet.I'm scared it might mold. And I'm not sure if my mom is going to get one of those rug cleaner vaccums. And ideas on how I can dry the carpet?

Answer:

Sounds like you used too much water.. t a dryer that blows under the rug and do it soon or you'll have the mold that you are worried about.
take some old towels put them down and walk on them that should soak up alot of the water-then put a fan to completely dry the rug.
if you have access to a shop vacuum use it to suck out as much of the moisture as possible KO, here,s what else you can do. wipe the area with a big towel try to pick up as much water /moisture as you can , if you have a space heater place it by the wet area and leave it till rug is dry. no space heater? then place a fan aim it at the wet spot same thing leave it till dry, also i know you must have a hair dryer.you can use it the same way you would if drying your hair you can also rent a commercial fan for drying out wet areas at any rental store ..good luck please don't try to use your vacuum cleaner the water will wipe out the motor.
Sounds like you used too much water to clean the carpet, and didn't soak any of it up. Grab a towel or two lay them over the spot and walk around on top of the towels to soak up the excess water. Then, grab a fan and turn it on high, and set it so that it blows over the carpet. This will help to circulate the air and make it dry faster. A carpet should really only take about 20-60 minutes (give or take the type of carpet) to dry when being cleaned. When I shampoo my carpet, it dries pretty quickly, usually about 30 minutes or so. You should give your mom a heads up on what you did. She may want to rent a carpet cleaner to try to rid the carpet of the smell if it's still around.
not only is carpet wet,but padding under carpet. pull up both and vent with fan. sounds like water in padding too. drying carpet does not dry padding. padding will mold even if carpet appears dry!!
