I have a bathroom vanity that I want to update without painting. It is an inexpensive pine stained dark cherry. I cant replace it because all the tile work is very nice and expensive. I have no clue why the former owners didnt replace this vanity at the time that they updated the rest of the room. If you have any ideas that dont include painting or restaining ..thanks
Try re staining and seal with polyurethane. Then how about changing the pulls and hinges?
there are various laminate tops to choose for between. some appear as if marble or granite without the fee, yet, they're nonetheless laminates. via the years they might swell exceptionally on the backside of the front facet. they're reliable against stains yet i might advise tile. no longer very high priced, hardship-free adequate for a house proprietor to place in themselves and hardship-free to maintain. purely be confident to apply a reliable sealer on the grout to maintain makeup and such from staining it.
I would add either decorative knobs or pulls. Or you could take off the doors and open up the cabinet. If the pipes would show, put up a smal 3 or 4 panel screen. You could also replace the doors with ones that have glass inserts.
New hardware, new glass doors, updated mirror, painting the walls around it can make it look very different. Changing the sink or faucet. Not painting, but maybe just enhance the wood with a wood cleaning treatment. Not sure what condition the wood is in, but you can cover little boo boos by using a wood marker, they do wonders... Good Luck... if all else fails, painting is the cheapest way to completely change a look!!
By the time you invest money into all the extras you may be better off just going in to your local hardware store and buying a new vanity. They can be installed quite easily. Go into yahoo or google image search and key in the word bathroom vanity, you will get thousands of pictures and you're bound to find one you like!
