Question:

If I wanted to use some kind of cloth, like kevlar, aramid, or something of the sort to make a speaker cone?

If I wanted to use some kind of cloth, like kevlar, aramid,or something of the sort to make a speaker cone, what kind of resin would be best to combine with it?I‘ve heard of poly-glass,but what is that?when I look it up,it‘s like it doesn‘t exist.Or how bout a pour on polymer hard epoxy resin?Or would epoxies crack?Or what about polyester resins? And whats the difference between those kinds and regular fiberglass resin?I know epoxy dries harder, but is it really that much harder?which would be better for what I want to do?And where can I find it?Thanks a lot!!

Answer:

I believe the Family medical Leave act prohibits them from firing you. It covers 8 weeks. But to make it sound better to your company you may want to let them know you would be more than willing to come into work until you go for surgery if they can find you something to do that requires very little standing. Maybe they have some office work they wouldn't mind letting you do. And if they don't at least it makes you looks like you are willing to work despite your injuries.
Where did you learn that Maryland was NOT an at will state? Nevertheless, you are incorrect. Secondly, with your mother working in HR, she should have known this. However, she too is incorrect because no such laws are being broke. So, yes, you can be terminated.

A speaker cone means a low frequency driver (under a few hundred Hz) as I see it here. Higher frequency drivers work fine, so little point in improving them. The important thing is it works like a piston, and the shape breaks up at certain frequencies, so the goal is stiffness, and especially light weight. If you used a fabric with a coating for stiffness it makes more sense to use the polymer on its own to keep the weight down. I expect any kind of polymer used with fiber glass (also called GRP), and other composites would work with this in the way you envisage. It is likely that silk fabric is finer than those mentioned, so lighter overall. I have seen top end loud speakers using a cone made of titanium foil, and also aluminium foil with ribs pressed in it for stiffness. There is a need for a suspension at the coil end and the outer end whatever method used. Damping is another issue. Look up spring damper. Also try Thiele Small parameters for an analytical understanding of what is involved. There are plenty of examples if you search. The link below is a starter. Wishing you luck.
here is an eye opener the state of Montana is the only state that is not an at will state the rest are, there is no law that says you can't be fired if you are sick or injured unless you are on FMLA, Dr.s notes are advice not job protection the employer is under no obligation to accept it. so to answer your question yes they can
