Not unless you cut the ends~ Because the yarn is not actually hair, it will have to eventually be removedYour hair will still grow and the locks will appear to be getting longer simply because there will be more space between your scalp and the yarn lock (due to new growth), however: your hair will not take on the same texture or thickness as the yarn lock, and though your hair can still lock in this state, it would still have to be maintained (ie twisted or palm rolled) to maintain the lockI do not advise locking your hair in this manner because the weight of the yarn lock will eventually lead to the breakage of your real hair and most likely the yarn locks will detach on on their own before your hair fully locks (not to mention the issues that the yarn fibers will pose to keeping your hair clean)If you want healthy locks the best thing to do is to start them with your natural hair~ Good luck : )
